The battle of Internet service providers in Uganda seems to yielding riper fruits for consumers because competition means we get price cuts and more offers. Orange is known for its quality internet hasn’t been been aggressive as its competition when it comes to ridiculously low prices but this time they have come with an offer for the data hungry.

Orange’s new happy hour promo which has been dubbed, Happy hour lets you surf, download, deploy and stream any online content worth 1 Gigabyte of data within an hour.

The only difference is the pricing according to the time you would like to use the service. Using the 1 Gb  within a time cap of an hour any time of the day will set you back, 5,000/- and nocturnals will pay 2,500/- and utilize the happy hour between midnight and 6am.

offer data price validity
Happy hour 1GB 5,000/- 1 hour any time of the day
Happy nights 1GB 2,500/- midnight – 6am

The Bad

It only lasts for 1 hour, so if you value duration on the internet compared to the amount of content you have accessed then this plan isn’t for you.

If the internet ever got slow during the hour in which you activated the mix, then you are definitely utter some abusive words because your bundle will expire yet you have an unused data. Airtel gives the post midnight pack for 6 hours meaning you have more time to use your bundle.

The bright side

It can be activated any time of the day and our speed test was nice since we got really fast speeds, it will come in handy when downloading heavy files which you can do outside your monthly data cap meaning you will actually save money.

Kudo Orange, we only wish other Internet providers and Telecoms could follow suite. We need cheaper and faster internet
